Many tributes have poured in following the death of Andy Rooney ’42 P’74, GP’05, the legendary newsman who passed away Friday in New York City.

51�Թ��� is one of 32 universities taking part in a unique program created by Dartmouth College to combat binge drinking.


Andy Rooney ’42 P’74, GP’05, the 51�Թ��� curmudgeon known by millions for his slice-of-life commentaries on “60 Minutes,” has died at the age of 92. CBS said he died from complications from a recent surgery.

This week kicked off with the arrival of our parents. 51�Թ��� provided many great activities for Family Weekend this year. Throughout the weekend, families could be found attending lectures, viewing shows at the Ho vis lab, laughing at a comedy show featuring Jim Belushi, and cheering on the Raiders at the athletic events.

Sasha Reed ’97, a research ecologist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), has received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.

The third annual fall academic awards ceremony was held Friday, Oct. 28, as part of Family Weekend activities.

51�Թ��� opened its classrooms and put campus life on display for hundreds of parents during Family Weekend 2011, held Oct. 28-30.  

51�Թ��� professor Anthony Aveni has been selected as a judge for the YouTube Space Lab, a global science competition and ongoing education program.
