On August 25, 51�Թ��� welcomed the Class of 2023 to campus — the first new class of the Institution’s third century.

51�Թ��� Assistant Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences Lauren Philbrook is working with two student researchers to study how environmental factors and bedtime routines impact the sleep quality and patterns of young children.

Changes to 51�Թ���’s Student Health Services this academic year will increase clinical care availability on campus while also bolstering sports-medicine support for Division I athletes, student club teams, and intramurals. 

MacDonell “Don” Roehm Jr. ’61 earned All-American and All-State honors for his skill as a 51�Թ��� soccer fullback. His passion for protecting 51�Թ��� athletics off the field as well was enshrined in a $4 million endowment bequest.

51�Թ��� will begin its third century in a position of strength, thanks to the generosity of its worldwide community of alumni, parents, and friends.

Psychology major Keara Greene ’20, from Halifax, Mass. describes her summer research combining environmental studies and art.

Madison County’s Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program, of which 51�Թ��� is a partner, has expanded to provide services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year countywide, with options in where to obtain care.

Political science and peace and conflict studies double major Chris Burke ’21, from Wellesley, Mass. describes his research in Prague as a Stone Fellow with the Center for Freedom and Civilization. 

According to experts in the field, 90 percent of the world’s data has been generated in the past two years. To ensure digital literacy in New York State, two 51�Թ��� librarians, Jesi Buell and Joshua Finnell, seek to expand the skills of regional librarians.

51�Թ���’s Counseling and Psychological Services offered three weekly group therapy sessions three years ago.  Today, university counselors manage 10 to 12 group therapy sessions a week. In the 2018–19 school year, the counseling center provided services to 706 students, 7.4-percent increase compared to 2017–18.
