Members of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø community gathered on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023 for the dedication of the Clearing, a new outdoor space on 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s campus.

On Sunday, Aug. 20, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø welcomed the Class of 2027, one of the most academically accomplished cohorts in 51³Ô¹ÏÍø history with a 12% acceptance rate and 3.97 average GPA.

One of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s most important employee benefits has been expanded to support children of employees seeking trade or vocational education. 

Abigail L. Palko, PhD, director of the Maxine Platzer Lynn Women’s Center at the University of Virginia, has been named the inaugural director of the Residential Commons program at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.

Brown and Hancock Residential Commons at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will both welcome new co-directors in the 2023–24 academic year.

Nobel Peace Prize-winning journalist, free press advocate, and CEO of Rappler.com Maria Ressa will visit 51³Ô¹ÏÍø on Oct. 28 as the speaker for the Kerschner Family Series Global Leaders at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.

April 10–22, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø celebrated 13 Days of Green, inspiring and empowering students, faculty, and staff to embrace a sustainable future.

National Weather Service officials have recognized 51³Ô¹ÏÍø as StormReady® .

51³Ô¹ÏÍø has been awarded the 2022 Campus Prevention Network Seal of Prevention by education company Vector Solutions.

On Friday, March 24, more than 50 students were on hand for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s inaugural Undoukai Sports Festival, organized by the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Japanese Cultural Community.
