Getting Ready for Arrival Day

Back to Messages to New Students

In one month, you will be moving into your new home and beginning your journey as a member of our community. We are so excited to have you, and we want to take a moment to review your August to-dos and give you information about your arrival.

August Responsibilities

Financial Forms - Due August 1

If you would like trusted individuals, such as parents or guardians, to have access to your academic information, you may designate them here.

Domestic Students are required to enroll or waive student health insurance before August 1. Students who do not waive will be enrolled in 51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s health insurance plan.

Make your fall payment through TouchNet. Students may make a payment or an authorized TouchNet user may make a payment. Should you have concerns about making your payment for the fall semester, the Office of Student Accounts can support you at stuaccounts@colgate.edu.

Community Reads - Due August 6

Required Training - Due August 6

Take some time to thoughtfully move through these training modules surrounding personal and community well-being.

Religious Preferences - August 20

The Office of the Chaplains provides the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø community with a dynamic, friendly, and supportive place to seek answers to life’s biggest questions. You may choose to share your religious preferences so that the office can better meet your needs. This information will not appear in any directory or other location accessible to the larger University community or to the public.

Arrival Day - August 24

is quickly approaching! We are looking forward to welcoming you and your supporters to campus to move in and kick-off your 51³Ô¹ÏÍø experience. You may arrive between 9 a.m. and noon ET on August 24 to begin your move-in and check-in process. You will be greeted by many smiling faces in Arrival Day shirts who will direct you where to drive, drop off your belongings, park, and how to get to your residence hall. Arrival Day will include brunch for all attendees, a parent and family orientation for your supporters, and a large welcome gathering to jumpstart your Orientation.

Getting Ready for Your New Home

You will soon be introduced to your Residential Commons, learn your housing placement, and receive information about your roommate(s), if applicable. The Residential Commons program is a major component of your educational experience. One of the most important aspects of a residential campus is living in community with others, where learning occurs both in the classroom and in your residence hall. We are currently reviewing your housing preference form, and you will soon know which commons you will call home, and who your roommate(s) will be.

As always, if you have any questions about your checklist items, Arrival Day, or New Student Orientation, please reach out to newstudents@colgate.edu.
